Fall Vacation-Pacific Northwest
Ok, I am going to try to catch up. In September, Ron, myself and brother Ron from FL went on a three week trip to Oregon and Washington. We saw lots of beautiful country. Here is a glimpse of what we saw. We had a wonderful time. First pictures are of the Oregon Coast. These are in reverse order of how we traveled but you get the picture.

A Day & Night With Grammy & Grandpa
Alana likes to come and spend the night at grammy and grandpa's house so we try to have her once a month. She gets to spend time with us without her baby brother and gets to do what she wants. Auntie Eileen called and of course, Alana had to have a serious "girl" talk with her. Too cute!
When Alana stays with us, there is always a trip to the beach. It was a bit chilly and windy so I convinced her not to go in the water. She loves to play in the sand.

While walking along the beach, we discovered this great castle with a moat that someone had built. The tide was coming in and the moat was filling up. Alana just could not resist playing in it. She had a great time and even pulled grammy in to wade in the water. Of course, she was not content to just wade! She had to slide down the sand hill into the water! Great fun at Cayucos beach!

A Day at the Mid-State Fair
We went to the Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles on Sunday, July 26th with Shannon, Arnold & kids. The weather was great--down from the previous day's high of 104 to the mid 90's. Our first stop was at the carnival rides. Alana had been seeing them getting set up and was very anxious to get on them. She had a great time! She even got Grammy to go on a twirly boat ride with her. We had a great day!

Portuguese Festival
This weekend was the annual Protuguese Festival in Cayucos. On Saturday, there was a free Sopas dinner at the Vet's Hall. The meal consists of beef boiled all day in broth, large slices of bread soaked in the broth and cabbage. It is delicious. The entire inside of the hall was crowded as well as the outside patio. Advertise free food and they all come! Sunday there was a parade of all the Queens and their courts to church for Mass. Cayucos has a strong Portuguese heritage.
