Cael's 1st Birthday Party

Cael's birthday party was held at Morro Strand State Park in Morro Bay. Shannon and her family camped there and we joined them on Sat. for the festivities. There was a scavenger hunt on the beach, a buried treasure hunt, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and of course, party favors. Lots of good food, bar'b'que and of course, cake. A good time was had by all. Here is the birthday boy playing with a balloon.
Party central. Campsite at Morro Strand State Beach.

Searching for buried treasure on the beach.

Who won the scavenger hunt? They were all winners.

Which one shall I eat first?

This candle has a lot of good frosting. Birthdays sure are fun.

Happy birthday to our one year old!

Big sister teaching Cael how to unwrap presents.

Time to rest after all that excitement.

On July 8th, there was a free concert at the Estrella Warbird Museum given by the Air National Guard of the Southwest. Before the concert, there was a chicken bar'b'que and of course, Ron was the cook. Bar'b'que was delicious and the concert was great.

36th Anniversary Get Away to Moss Landing, CA

We went away for our anniversary to Moss Landing which is just north of Monterey. It is a quaint fishing village with several antique shops as well. We have been stopping here every time we get up the coast but have never stayed. Stayed at a great B & B. It was a nice relaxing mini vacation.
The B & B where we stayed in Moss Landing. It was a great place.

Our room in the Captains Inn. It was so relaxing to just sit and watch the animals in the water.

Sunset as seen from our room.

We took a boat tour on the Elk Horn Slough. A 2 hr. ride where we saw lots of birds, seals, sea lions, pelicans, egrets and sea otters.

View of the Elk Horn Slough.

There were hundreds of seals, sea lions and sea otters in the slough.

View of Moss Landing Harbor. Time to head down the coast and back to reality! We had a great trip!
